Creative sandblasting – Cumbria Crystal

Description:

Level 1: Introductory Level - Max group size six; min three: 14+ years

This intensive one-day course with Reuben Allonby is suitable for beginners with no prior experience, or people wishing to extend their skills. Reuben recently completed a three year apprenticeship with Cumbria Crystal's recently retired Master Glass Engraver and brings a creative and precise aesthetic to this art form and will assist you in bringing your drawings, photographs or patterns to life.

The sandblasting process relies on the creative application of hand-cut stencils to the surface of the glass to form a resist which protects the glass from the abrasive action of the sand-blasting process. This enables your designs and drawings to be etched into the glass surface. The course requires the use of scalpels. Materials, tools and health & safety equipment are provided.

Cost: £79.00
