Ardagh’s Irvine plant receives guests from around the globe

The group from the Japanese Glass Bottlers Association with their hosts from Ardagh Irvine during their recent visit to the plant.

 

Ardagh’s glass bottle manufacturing plant in Irvine, Ayrshire has been impressing guests from around the globe with its world class facilities as well as Ardagh’s approach to  recycling, branding and logistics.

 

Representatives from the Japanese Glass Bottlers Association recently group toured the plant, and were impressed by its general cleanliness and efficiency. They took particular interest in how the plant was increasing its use of recycled glass.

“This is one of a number of visits to the plant by international groups, and it again gives us an opportunity to showcase the contribution we make to the spirits industry in Scotland and the local economy,” remarked Graeme Shepherd, Director of Operations, Irvine, Ardagh Glass UK.

In late September of this year the a large delegation from the Swedish food and drinks industry visited the Irvine plant to study modern methods of glass bottle manufacturing and inspect the new furnace and production line that was installed at the plant last year.
