Starpack Industry Awards Shortlists Two STO Bottles

Two of the bottles submitted by Stölzle Glass Group have been shortlisted for the 2015 UK Starpack Industry Awards ‘The announcement is a great honour,’ said Johannes Schick, CEO of Stölzle Glass Group:

Each of the bottles we submitted involved complex production requirements and, in the case of the Acqua di Giò fragrance, a sophisticated digital printing decoration was developed to produce the amazing final decoration effect. We are delighted to have both items shortlisted and it is a recognition of the glassmaking skills of both our West Yorkshire Stölzle Flaconnage glass factory and the Stoelzle Masnières Parfumerie Decoration facility.

Shortlisted for Best branded Pack is the elegant bottle for Acqua di Giò from Armani. The bottle shape retained its traditional design; however the appeal of the fragrance was enhanced by the inclusion of the image of Skorpios, the stunning Armani Island. This was achieved through the new digital printing process which uses the entire available decoration surface allowing the design to be printed right around the container. The image of the Island which is owned by Giorgio Armani, evokes the irresistible fragrant breeze of the sea.

The heavy weight decanter for Aultmore Whisky for Bacardi has been shortlisted in the category Primary Packaging Commodity Alcohol. Stölzle have achieved the objective to take this product into the Premium sector through simplicity of design and the excellent manufacturing quality. The customized design and the finish of this Whisky bottle enhance perfectly the beauty of the precious liquid inside. Their brilliant white flint glass and the superb lines of the design enhance the golden colour of the Whisky, resembling a gold barrel.

STO Whisky Bottle Nominated for German Packaging Awards & UK Luxury Packaging Awards

Image: David Beckham Single Grain Scotch Whisky

In 2014 David Beckham entered the Whisky scene by endorsing the marvellous Single Grain Scotch Whisky manufactured in cooperation with the premium drinks company Diageo, at Cameronbridge Distillery - the oldest grain distillery in Scotland. It was an honour for Stölzle to be involved in this unique and challenging decanter design manufactured in cobalt blue which draws on a history of bottles produced by the House of Haig, including the Haig Dimple Bottle, recognisable the world over.

Recently, the stunning blue whisky decanter gained further international recognition having been shortlisted both in the German Packaging Awards and the UK Luxury Packaging Awards in the category Drinks. The jury’s decision was predominantly based on the technically perfect glass quality. As is known within the glass industry blowing this kind of deep blue glass in fully automatic production is challenging but a beautiful homogenous finish was achieved. Their British production site of Stölzle Glass Group proved its expertise and Haig Club was successfully launched in the UK.

Stölzle has six European production sites, three of them have in-house decoration facilities. For many years now Stölzle has worked on its forward thinking investment plan to offer state of the art innovation in decoration allowing individualism and unique design results. The latest innovations and key disciplines at Stölzle include sprayed metallisation, masked-spray finishes, UV cured spraying or printing, digital printing, printing with special inks (fluorescent under UV light, phosphorescent - glowing in the dark, and colour change), mirror inks, embossed lettering, and IPET.
